Sport,Health, Education for a Long Life

Sport, Health, Education for Long Life (SHELL) is a 24-Months Erasmus+ “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices” Project.

Summary

Background

We applied this project in order to improve the educational systems of the countries involved, we wanted to create a framework for equal opportunities for employment on the labour market of the future graduates of vocational schools, who receive the qualification of Sports Instructor. The job of sports instructor registered with Choir: 342202-level 3, in Romania, cannot find its place on the European labour market, that is why there is a need to develop new competencies. Moreover, this project is aimed at making aware the companies and the people about the importance of the sports instructors who should be present in all the institutions to prevent some diseases, to organize , exactly as a psychologist has its place on the labour market. Another important need was the necessity of turning a sport instructor into an entrepreneur, being easier to work as a freelancer or as the manager of its own company, collaborating with all the other institutions. Creating new competencies of sports instructors and entrepreneurship through a new curricula was one of the most important need to apply in schools.

Objectives

By implementing this project we wanted to achieve the insertion on the European labor market of 8% of the future graduates of vocational sports education with instructor certificate, instead of 4 % the present result, objective achieved through the creation of three guidelines for the future sports instructors graduates as employee,for the future sports instructors as entrepreneurs and for the economic operators; Another objective was the improvement of the teachers' competencies concerning the absorption and improving students ' materials in sports high schools, by creating a new curricula and a class support, in order to implement it as a pilot program,improving competencies for five teachers; We also intended to conclude partnerships between Sports schools and viable economic agents and other partners in the European space to facilitate the insertion of the future graduates on the labor market,through signing 7 viable partnerships with the economical agents from the region This project aim was to improve students' competencies, objective realized through the sportive entrepreneur certificate got after graduating the entrepreneur course created in the project framework-40 students graduate from the entrepreneurship course.

Implementation

The activities implemented were the 8 transnational meetings, 4 of management, 4 short teaching learning activities, two with teachers and 2 with students. During the management meetings, in Romania and Italy we had activities of monitoring, evaluating, debates and discussions about the progress of the project and the intellectual outputs,The short term joint staff activities in Turkey in Greece developed new professional competencies for the teachers, they took part in sport activities developed with other economic agents and ONG, The 2 short term students activities in Greece and Bulgaria developed competencies for students in sports and entrepreneurship, they attended sports courses and entrepreneurship courses, finalized with an Youth Pass Certificate.

Results

The seven outputs proposed at the beginning of the project were realized by the experts involved in the project , there were 3 Guideliness, for the Sports Instructors, for the Sports Instructor entrepreneur and for the economic operators and other institutions interested in hiring sports instructors. Also, a curriculla and a course for the vocational sport education were created in order to implement it during optional classes at the beginning, as a pilot programme, an entrepreneurship course adapted for sports instructors, taught in Bulgaria for 60 students during the project implementation. The last intellectual output was a module for implementing the interactive games during the classes, applied in Greece with the students involved in project. The website of the project was created by the coordinator together with the partners, the roll up for the visibility of the project and the leaflets for dissemination were also created by the leading organization.

Description

This guideline is addressed to the future sports instructors, it includes a description of the sports instructor, the skills held by him, where and in what way he operates.


The effectiveness of a sports instructor is determined by technical competence, professional competence and personal competence. And the successful insertion of a sports instructor into the labor market is determined by the quantity and quality of the skills he possesses in those areas of competence.


The responsibility of a professional sports instructor in a physical / sports activity is to facilitate the learning process of participants with different technical, professional and personal characteristics.


The role of an instructor is an engaging one, full of challenges, which requires involvement and commitment to lifelong learning.

The sports instructor (C.O.R code 342202) works in the field of high-performance sports, being employed by sports associations, sports clubs or other institutions in the public or private sector.


Nowadays, the need to include a sports instructor in a company is the equivalent of a psychologist in an institution. They have exactly the same purpose, the psychologist heals minds and souls, the sports instructor heals bodies and souls. It has the ability to increase productivity and prevent some diseases given by a particular job, but economic agents avoid this type of job.


This guide explains the necesiity of hiring or collaborate with the sports instructor, its benefits for the company.

Curricula for the optional "The European Sports Instructor",SPORT, HEALTH, EDUCATION FOR LONG LIFE - SHELL, 2019-1-RO01-KA202-063927,INTELLECTUAL OUTPUT 4

Description

The curriculum for the subject SPORT INSTRUCTOR is addressed to classes with vocational sports program, sports profile, all specializations, in high school education.


The purpose of studying this optional subject is the acquisition by students of a system of theoretical and methodical knowledge, on which to base their own sports training, as well as the acquisition of methodological and organizational skills specific to the profession of sports instructor at European level.

Description

The optional is created especially for the students of vocational high schools, future holders of the instructor-sports certificate.


It contains integrated elements of sports theory, biology, anatomy, sociology and will be approached by students of 16 -17 years (the last two years of study).


The result will be the creation of new skills for the future sports instructor, it will function as an extracurricular course during the project, but it is meant to be introduced in sports high schools in Romania and partner countries first, then in Europe.
